On Thursday, October 15th, in honor of breast cancer awareness month and as their first public launch, Cancer Baddies hosted their wellness social at Heimat social club in Los Angeles from 7pm to 9pm. This landmark event hosted 80 patients and survivors and focused on a curated gifting experience, step-and-repeat, expert conversations, and community connection.
About Cancer Baddies:
Cancer Baddies is a survivor-led global community helping women redefine themselves through every stage of the cancer experience. Founded by fitness professional, Amanda Butler after her own Stage II breast cancer diagnosis at 32, Cancer Baddies was built from a simple realization: the medical system is extraordinary at treating cancer, but what happens during and after treatment ends is largely ignored.
“Cancer Baddies exists for the part nobody helps you with. The day treatment ends, you’re left processing the trauma of it all while trying to figure out who you are now,” said Butler.
“Our medical system has gotten really great at keeping young people alive. What it hasn’t figured out is what happens after: how to help the person who is still living, not just surviving,” she added.
Survivors are sent home “cured” and expected to figure out the rest alone. Identity. Body image. Relationships. Intimacy. Grief. Confidence. Purpose. The emotional and psychological aftermath of cancer is its own journey, and there was no dedicated space to navigate it.
Cancer Baddies fills that gap. Through the Hotter After Cancer workshop series, monthly support calls, immersive wellness retreats, and a growing digital membership platform, the community provides what the post-treatment space has been missing: real programming led by survivors who understand the lived experience, validated by clinical expertise, and designed to work with the whole person, not just the diagnosis.
The approach is body-based and trauma-informed. Clinical expertise, Breathwork, EFT tapping, guided meditation, and journaling, are woven into every program alongside expert-led conversations on body image, dating, intimacy, and self-acceptance. Every modality is chosen with intention.
Cancer Baddies is open to all cancer types and all backgrounds. While we work to support young patients and survivors, inclusivity is a core value. The community currently reaches over 150,000 people across social platforms, with 2,500+ newsletter subscribers and a growing membership platform.
This is not a support group. This is a movement. Because surviving was never the finish line. More about Cancer Baddies:
